College Description

1985 marked the beginning toward excellence when the College of Education was founded. In 1988, by virtue of DECS Order No. 39, s. 1988, the Teacher Education component was expanded through the offering of Bachelor of Secondary Education with specializations in Technology and Home Economics (THE), Math and English, and Bachelor in Elementary Education major in Home Economics and Livelihood Education (HELE).

Through the years, the quest for quality and excellence continues through the program accreditation from Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities, Inc. (AACCUP), starting with Level 1 Candidate Status in 2004, Level I Accreditation status in 2007 and now, Level III re-accredited status until 2026 for the Bachelor in Elementary Education and Bachelor in Secondary Education. At present, program offerings include Bachelor in Elementary Education (BBED), Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSED) with specializations in English, Math, and Science, Bachelor in Technical and Vocational Education (BTVTED) with specializations in Food and Service Management (FSM) and Garments, Fashion and Design Technology (GFDT), and Bachelor in Technology and Livelihood Education major in Home Economics (BTLED-HE). Students and faculty are actively involved in research, community extension activities, partnerships with higher educational institutions and other stakeholders, and foreign student exchange programs.

As a result of all these efforts, the College of Education has been producing quality graduates, as evidenced by the high passing rates in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). Moreover, the COE has produced two (2) national placers: Ms. Venette Nicole M. Gregorio, 9th National Placer (Elementary Level) in the October 2022 LET, and Ms. Leonidean L. Casinao, who ranked 7th in the September 2023 LET (Elementary Level).
